The Bushwick Collective is the open-air street art museum that put Bushwick on the cultural map for visitors. Hundreds of murals across multiple blocks, free, no admission, walkable. Café Mia sits at the northern edge of the densest stretch, close enough that we're the natural cafe stop before or after a mural walk.
Walking directions to and from
The murals are densest along Troutman, Knickerbocker, and Wyckoff between Flushing and Starr. From Café Mia at 1128 Broadway:
Walk south on Broadway to Hancock or Halsey.
Turn east toward Knickerbocker Avenue.
The first major murals are 5 minutes from our door.
The full mural walk (the dense blocks) takes 45 minutes to an hour.

The before and after
Most mural visitors do one of two things:
Cafe first. Coffee, breakfast, then the walk. Energy for the photography.
Cafe second. Walk first, then collapse into a chair with an iced matcha to recover. Most photographers prefer this — better light during the walk.
Either works. The walk is 60–90 minutes if you're stopping for photos. Café Mia is a natural anchor at one end.
What to bring on a mural day
Comfortable shoes, the walk is several miles round-trip if you do all the dense blocks.
Water or a refillable bottle (we'll fill it for free).
Phone or camera.
Cash or card for street food along Knickerbocker.

Start at Café Mia — coffee, walking directions on your phone
Head south on Broadway, west on Troutman — the densest mural blocks start around Knickerbocker
Loop north on Wyckoff — hits the murals along the L train tracks
Return via St. Nicholas or Central — bring you back toward Café Mia's block
Total loop: about 90 minutes of walking with stops for photos. The murals rotate, some are decade-old anchors, new pieces appear every spring. Come back annually and you'll always find something you haven't seen.
