Remote workers have three concerns for a cafe: is the Wi-Fi reliable, can I take a video call without being rude, and will the staff make me feel unwelcome for staying past one coffee? Café Mia is one of the few Bushwick cafes that answers yes/yes/yes. Free 250 Mbps Wi-Fi, calm corners suitable for headphone video calls, and no time limits on weekdays. Regulars run 4–6 hour work days here regularly.
Business-grade fiber, 250 Mbps down / 100 Mbps up. Dedicated guest network (no bandwidth competition with our POS). Uptime has been effectively 100% over the past year. Password is on your receipt. It's fast enough for Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and screen sharing without lag.
The two 2-tops nearest the front window are the quietest, foot traffic is outside, room noise is behind you. The back corner (near the pastry case) has a natural sound dampening. Avoid the center table cluster if you're on a call, those are more social zones.
Headphones on. Always. No speaker calls (the room is too small, audio carries). Cough into your sleeve. Mute when not talking. If your meeting is going to be an hour and there's a line for tables, glance up occasionally to check if you should move to a smaller table. That's it. Regulars follow these unspoken rules and everything works.
A-Grade Uji matcha, 4g dose, whisked fresh with oat milk over large-cube ice. Our #1 seller.
Real dragonfruit puree layered with A-Grade Uji matcha. Naturally sweet, vividly pink.
Fresh-squeezed lemonade meets whisked Uji matcha. Summer bestseller.
Tuesday–Thursday 9–11 AM: quietest window, ideal for focus work and calls. Tuesday–Thursday 2–4 PM: mid-vibrancy, workable with headphones. Fridays: shift toward weekend energy after 3 PM. Weekends: avoid 11 AM–2 PM if you need to talk on a call. Sunday afternoons are surprisingly good for a chill work session.
Every table has an outlet within reach, 12 standard outlets around the room plus a few built-in USB-C. If you're running two monitors or a mesh setup, ask when you arrive and we'll seat you near a power block. Standing meetings work at the counter bar if you prefer to stand. For long sessions, a laptop stand fits easily on our tables.
Order pattern for the 4-hour meeting day: flat white to start, water refill an hour in, iced matcha or cold brew mid-afternoon, breakfast sandwich or avocado toast at lunch. Total spend for a full day: usually $20–$30. Cheaper than a coworking day pass, more comfortable than most WeWork alternatives.
Yes, with headphones on. No speaker calls (the room is too small). Wi-Fi is 250 Mbps business-grade fiber, dedicated guest network. Google Meet, Zoom, Teams all work reliably without lag.
No private rooms, we're an open cafe. For private meetings we'd suggest coworking spaces nearby, or for a small group meeting book the cafe outside our regular hours for a partial buyout (details on /private-events-cafe-mia).
250 Mbps down / 100 Mbps up on our business-grade fiber. Dedicated guest network. Password is on your receipt. Fast enough for high-bandwidth video calls, screen sharing, and cloud dev environments.
No time limit on weekdays. Full working days (4–6 hours) are common for our regulars. On weekend peak hours (11 AM–2 PM) we ask people to move to smaller tables if a bigger table is needed. Order something every 90 minutes as the unspoken etiquette.
Yes, free street parking on Broadway and surrounding blocks. Bushwick parking is significantly easier than Williamsburg or Manhattan. Alt-side rules on weekdays.
