Café Mia is 10–25 minutes from most of northern Bed-Stuy on foot, or one stop on the J train. Here's what to know about making the trip.
Bed-Stuy has its own coffee culture, and we'd never argue otherwise — there are excellent cafes throughout the neighborhood. But for Bed-Stuy residents along the northern edge (Halsey, Gates, Greene), Café Mia is closer than you'd think. The walk takes you up Broadway through the part of Bushwick that's quietest in the morning.

Why Bed-Stuy residents make the trip
The Bed-Stuy customers who become regulars at Café Mia tell us a few consistent things:
Matcha. Bed-Stuy doesn't have a deep matcha bench yet. Our ceremonial-grade matcha program is the most-cited reason Bed-Stuy people walk the extra 10 minutes.
The room. Cherry-blossom installation, emerald velvet seating, pink-lit shelves — Café Mia's interior is its own destination.
Working space. No time limits, fast Wi-Fi, plenty of outlets. Bed-Stuy has good cafes for working but Café Mia is one of the more spacious options in this part of Brooklyn.
The food. Real breakfast menu (sandwiches, avocado toast, grain bowls) plus house-baked pastries.
What's on the way

Saratoga Park — small but pleasant, midway through.
Broadway commercial strip — bodegas, vintage shops, and the early signs of Bushwick's gallery scene.
The Bushwick Collective murals — a few blocks south of Café Mia, easy detour.
